Parian Spirit

This is for all makeup brush users. When I was in makeup school our teacher recommended us brands of makeup and makeup brush cleaner. For makeup brush cleaner, he recommended us the Parian Spirit. This is so far the best makeup brush cleaner I've ever used. Its in a solution form, liquid of course. Its in a big bottle and the bottle dint have the spray thing so you have to put it in a spray bottle for easier use. You can find Parian Spirit in Suesh and also the empty spray bottle. Suesh is located in Greenhills and they have their newest branch in Alabang Town Center. Another good thing about this brush cleaner is that it smells kinda like lemon. Some doesn't like how it smells like my Dad, but its okay for me. Clients complements how good my brushes smell because of it too so its a good thing. So here's a picture of how Prian Spirit looks like. I got the biggest bottle and its almost empty now. :)

Ombre Hair - Can't wait!

I wanted to change my hair color like 3 weeks ago. Since I just got back from Manila, I knew that ombre or the dip dyed hair was the in today. I've been obsessing ombre hair since I knew about it and I kept on researching on DIY ombre cause I was planning to do it myself (stupid me) just to save up. Well it said that you need all those bleach for the hair stuff and it got me scared. So I had this friend in Manila who told me about this salon, the name is Azta Urban Salon, who does ombre colouring and I got excited. "I have to have that ombre hair!" that was on my mind. I talked to my mom about it and she approved! Oh yes! Right timing, I am flying to Manila tomorrow night cause we have this travel to Malaysia on the 27th and yes! I am getting an ombre at Azta Urban Salon before we leave for Malaysia. Happy happy happy me. So these are the shades that I wanted. What you guys think? Any suggestions?

Frustrated Photographer

It's almost the end of the week and I've been too lazy to do work, to do errands, and blogging. All I wanted was to lay in bed all day because my lower back was hurting so much. I can't even bend and get things. Good thing it's getting better so I had the strength to blog a little.

Enough about that back-pain-drama now. So yesterday, I have been browsing pictures from these past couple summer months (March, April and May) - yes we have different summer months here in the PI. While I was browsing I saw these pictures I took of Filipino food, tropical flowers, the dancing fountain here in my hometown and desserts. Then I uploaded them on Facebook. Haha! (as usual). I saved them on my iPod touch 4th gen too so i could edit them - and as usual again, to post it on Instagram. Yes I LOVE INSTAGRAM! (follow me! joanniiiee) So here the pictures I saved and edited using Instagram.

Thanks to Mano-Mano na Greenfields Restaurant for this delish Filipino food. This is one of my favorite restaurants here in my hometown, Zamboanga City.

This is the newest attraction here in Zamboanga City. The Dancing Fountain. Thanks to the city government and the city tourism in thinking of this idea and building it.

Here are some tropical flowers I took at the butterfly garden at Pasonanca, Zamboanga City, Philippines.

Desserts desserts desserts... This was during Mother's Day. Thanks to Red Ribbons Bakeshop for the tiramisu cake that I love love love! ♥♥♥

Hope you guys have a nice day! Xoxo Joanna. :)

So what happened to last week?

I was supposed to write a blog last Saturday but didn't happen. Tireeed and lazyyy me. Was busy too though. Did lots of clients makeup. So what happened? I had a client last Friday so I rushed to Senses Spa and Salon (I kinda own it) to set things up. Well there's so much things to do when setting up coz I have this makeup table with lights (which is so heavy like 15kg) and I have this director's chair too. So I have to carry it to the salon then assemble it, put on the bulbs coz I detach them when I don't use it, assemble the director's chair too, set up all my makeup on the makeup table and see if everything's complete. So setting up everything is already very tiring. Then I did a makeup for a mother and daughter (5 year old kid) for a wedding. The day after that day, which was Saturday, I had this promotional event at a store at a mall. So I did some free makeovers for customers who purchased a minimum of 500 Philippine peso. That was also a very tiring day. Well of course the setting up routine was always present. I always have to set up before I start working. This promotional thingy goes on every Saturday on the same store just for the month of July. Whew!

So that's all for my busy Friday and Saturday last week. And now my lower back hurts so bad. Oh well maybe I really have to invest and try yoga or pilates. Just to strengthen my back. My teacher was right about having back pains. Okay, that's about it. Here are some pictures of last Saturday's small promotional event. Have a nice day, night everyone! (I talked, wrote so much! Hihihi^^)

Confusion

Earlier this day, a walk-in client inquired about our salon's hair and makeup services, and she booked me for tomorrow. As I was searching pegs (pictures) of makeup looks in the internet, I found these 4 photos and I'm so confused which one. I wanted to go with bronze, gold, brown, neutral colors because that what suits her dress.

Hmmm... (thinking)

Beauty Tips:

You can play and have fun and experiment with different eyeshadow colors or lip colors, anything you want. You should always know what makeup colors looks good on you especially on your skin tone. The photo is all about bronze, brown, neutral, and gold. These shades are best for tan skin or fair skin. Why? Using these colors adds glow to the skin and because these shades are warm colors. It looks toned down but it looks sexy. One example is Jennifer Lopez. Everyone wants her makeup style coz she looks so refreshed and glowing. So if you have fair skin or if you're tan, I recommend you to these color shades. You can use it as your everyday makeup or if your having a night out with your girlfriends. These looks are one of the classics. Who's not gonna love classic? <3

You can also choose one of these looks and see what suits you best or you can experiment you're own bronze look. Damn! This is so hard! I'm so confused on what look I'll get inspired with for my makeup appointment tomorrow. Oh well, I guess I have to experiment with my different shades of bronze. Hihihi!^^

Simple Sunday Hoarding

Since I got back in Zamboanga (my hometown) from Manila, and being a blooming makeup artist, I've been having a hard time building my own clients. Then I got this offer for a bridal hair and makeup. I was so thrilled about it! As we all know, well makeup artists, when you do a bridal hair and makeup it costs higher than the cost when you do ordinary makeup - example for a party or conference, etc.

So why "Simple Sunday Hoarding"? Just this Sunday, I received my very first pay for bridal hair and makeup. I won't say anymore how much it really was but the excitement and the joy it gave me was an awesome feeling - that's why for me being a makeup artist is a very fulfilling career. All my excitement and joy ran up to my brain cells or brain nerves (ughhh... idk what medical people call it) and instantly I thought of accessories... accessories.. accessories.. So me, my mom, and my 2 aunts went to this accessories store in town. Damn! When I entered the store I didn't know where to start (wasn't able to take a photo of the store) but everything was so cheap. You just need to use your eyes and hands and pick the good ones. I ended up buying 21 items and hold on, I bought those 21 items for only 670.00 php ($16.00)!!! That's wayyy cheap! I know! That's only 2 or 3 items if you buy accessories at F21 or Aldo, so that made me a very happy buyer or I guess hoarder. Haha! So here are the items I got... Hihihi!^^

Thanks Mix & Match for selling very affordable accessories. Have a blessed day/night! Xoxo Joanna
